Put an empty bowl on the scale, press tare, and the bowl's weight disappears from the display. Add an ingredient, record it, tare again, and continue in the same bowl.
A simple example
- Place your mixing bowl on the scale.
- Press tare and wait for 0 g.
- Add 500 g flour.
- Press tare again.
- Add 350 g water.
The physical load is now bowl + flour + water, but the display shows only the ingredient added after the most recent tare.
Tare does not increase capacity
The scale still carries the full physical weight even when the display reads zero. If the bowl weighs 1,200 g and the scale has a 5,000 g maximum, only about 3,800 g of ingredient capacity remains before headroom.
What to test
Look for a tare button that responds without moving the scale, a display that remains visible behind your bowl, and a reading that settles quickly. Auto-off behavior should be long enough that the scale does not shut down between recipe steps.
